SWEENEY PROMOTES NELSON TO ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Sept. 21, 2006 – Sweeney, a leading full-service, marketing and public relations firm, has promoted Bess M. Nelson to account executive in its Wilmington, North Carolina office.

Her responsibilities include account management for business-to-business and consumer clients, as well as new business development for the agency. Nelson’s primary activities include strategy development, brand marketing, media relations and publicity, direct marketing, community relations and event management.

Nelson joined Sweeney as an assistant account executive September 2005 after graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor of arts in communication studies and a psychology minor. Nelson participates in UNCW communications studies’ Project ProtÈgÈ program and is a member of the Cape Fear Communicator Roundtable. She currently resides in Wilmington.
